HALIFAX, Jan. 16, 2018 /CNW/ - Atlantic Canadian journalists are reminded to submit their newspaper, magazine, radio, television, online stories and images to the 37th Atlantic Journalism Awards (AJAs).
The deadline for entries is midnight Thursday, February 1, 2018, except for Hall of Fame nominations which is the end of February. The Atlantic Journalism Hall of Fame category is new this year and anyone can enter potential inductees. Another new category is the Best Student Journalism Award.
Category descriptions, and other information can be found at www.AJAs.ca, or by calling (902) 240-4080. The fully digital entry system is available at www.ajasonline.org, along with the regulations and judging guidelines.
There are 28 award categories and all entries are to be completed online. Entries are required to have been published or broadcast in any Atlantic Canadian medium during 2017.
Panels of judges from across Canada review the entries and select three finalists from each category. Finalists will be announced in early April and the gold and silver awards will be presented at a gala dinner and awards show on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
As well as the gala awards event the AJAs will present professional development workshops on a variety of journalism topics, also to be held on April 28th.
