HALIFAX, April 11, 2016 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Journalism Awards (www.AJAs.ca) is pleased to announce that CWA/SCA Canada has joined with the AJAs and other partners to recognize and honour journalistic excellence in Atlantic Canada. CWA/SCA will also provide a scholarship to a student enrolled in the radio and television arts program at the Nova Scotia Community College.
CWA/SCA Canada is the country's only all-media union, with 6,000 members at the CBC, Canadian Press, Thomson Reuters, and newspapers and other media companies coast to coast. The Union aims to raise professional standards and promote ethical business and journalistic practices for its members, in their workplaces.

The Atlantic Journalism Awards is in its 35th year of honouring journalistic excellence in Atlantic Canada through a juried competition in 28 categories including newspapers, magazines, radio, television and online journalism. The presentation of the AJAs awards will be made during a gala dinner and awards event at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
