AJAs Announces Lifetime Achievement Award

HALIFAX, April 23, 2013 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Journalism Awards is proud to announce that Harry Bruce is this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of dedication to journalism excellence in Atlantic Canada.

Harry was educated at Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B. and the London School of Economics. He landed his first job in journalism in 1955 as a beat reporter for the Ottawa Journal covering community affairs.  Over the past 50-plus years, every major Canadian newspaper and magazine has published Harry's columns or stories. He has won four Atlantic Journalism Awards, two National Magazine Awards, and the award of the Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists. (ACTRA)

Harry has had a long and extraordinarily accomplished career in journalism and has demonstrated the utmost dedication to journalism excellence not only in Atlantic Canada but throughout the entire nation.

He will be honoured at the Atlantic Journalism Awards gala dinner and awards event on May 11, 2013 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.  Ticket information at www.AJAs.ca.
