Smith & Hutton to MC AJAs

HALIFAX, March 22 /CNW/ - Amy Smith, CBC Television News Halifax and NTV News Fred Hutton will be the Masters of Ceremonies for the Atlantic Journalism Awards 30th gala event.

Amy Smith, broadcast journalist with CBC Television News, co-hosts CBC News Nova Scotia at 6. Throughout her career, Amy has interviewed an impressive roster of people from all walks of life including federal and provincial political leaders. She is also a co-host of the CBC Maritimes series At the Table.

Fred Hutton has been the co-anchor of NTV Evening News Hour in St. John's, NL since 1992. He is now the Director of News and Current Affairs. Over the last 21 years Fred has covered thousands of stories, interviewing Prime Ministers, Premiers and countless other citizens and newsmakers.

Finalists for the Atlantic Journalism Awards will be announced in early April. Winners will be presented with the gold and silver awards at the gala dinner and awards event on May 7, 2011, at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. Professional development workshops will also be held during the day on May 7.
