AJAs Entries At 460

    HALIFAX, Feb. 16 /CNW/ - 80 independent judges from coast to coast are
now reviewing the 460 entries submitted to the 2006 Atlantic Journalism
Awards. In announcing the total entries, AJAs Chair, Dawn Chafe, Editor of
Atlantic Business Magazine said, "We continue to be amazed at the quality of
journalism in Atlantic Canada and the emphasis journalists place on winning an
AJA. The 460 entries reflect a strong commitment to journalistic excellence in
Atlantic Canada."
    Three finalists in each of the 25 categories will be announced in early
April. Luncheons for provincial finalists' will be held in New Brunswick on
April 23, Newfoundland on April 26, Prince Edward Island on April 27 and Nova
Scotia on April 30.
    The awards will be presented at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel,
on Saturday, May 12, 2007 during the AJAs gala dinner and awards event.
