AJAs Announces Guest Speaker

HALIFAX, March 27, 2013 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Journalism Awards (AJAs) is pleased to announce that Global TV's anchor/executive editor, Dawna Friesen, will be the guest speaker at this year's Atlantic Journalism Awards. The 32nd AJAs will be presented at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

Prior to joining Global News, Dawna spent 11 years as NBC's foreign correspondent and anchor in London, England, filing regularly for NBC News, Today and MSNBC.  As a foreign correspondent, she travelled extensively reporting on the biggest high-profile international news stories.  Friesen also worked for CTV News as a national correspondent, anchor and back-up host for Canada AM. She also served as a parliamentary reporter in CTV's Ottawa bureau, and as a reporter and anchor for CBC-TV in Vancouver.  She was bestowed with the 2011 Gemini Award for Canada's best news anchor.
