HALIFAX, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Journalism Awards has added three magazine categories to its lineup for 2009 journalism awards. The three awards are for Best Magazine Article; Best Magazine Profile Article and Best Magazine Cover during the 2009 calendar year.

The competition is open to any Atlantic Canada based magazine and entries must be submitted by the post mark deadline of Friday, January 29, 2010. Panels of judges will select three finalists for each category and the gold and silver award winners will be announced at the AJAs gala dinner and awards show on May 8, 2010 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.
