MCs announced for AJAs

    HALIFAX, April 17 /CNW/ - The Atlantic Journalism Awards (AJAs) is
pleased to announce Radio-Canada's Sophie Désautels, and the
Telegraph-Journal's senior reporter, Marty Klinkenberg, will be the Masters of
Ceremonies for the 28th gala awards event.
    Sophie Desautels received a Bachelor's degree in history from Université
Laval in Quebec City in 1988 and did one year in Aix-en-Provence in France.
She received a certificate in Journalism, also from Université Laval in 1991.
She worked for one year as journalist in a weekly newspaper and the daily
French newspaper L'Acadie-Nouvelle, before starting at Radio-Canada Moncton in
1992. Since 1999, she has been a television reporter on public affairs. Her
work in this field has earned her three Atlantic Journalism Awards.
    A native of Miami, Marty Klinkenberg has worked for numerous newspapers
throughout Canada and the United States. His work has earned him international
recognition including two Pulitzer Prize nominations, one of which resulted in
a win at The Miami Herald. The father of a 10-year-old budding hockey player,
he lives in Saint John, but spends most of his time traveling around New
Brunswick and writing as the senior reporter at the Telegraph-Journal. He has
been a finalist at the AJAs on numerous occasions, including four in 2008.
    Finalists for the Atlantic Journalism Awards were announced in early
April. Winners will be presented with the gold awards at the gala dinner and
awards event on May 2, 2009, at the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton, NB. To order
